40 Days for Life - Why should you pray to end abortion?

In the few years since 40 Days for Life campaigns have become a national movement:

•Reports document 3,599 lives that have been spared from abortion — and those are just the ones we know about
•43 abortion workers have quit their jobs and walked away from the abortion industry

Do you need any further proof than that? Prayer works. If you want to be a part of the solution to the moral problems that face our nation join 40 Days for Life in your community. The prayer vigils start today March 9, 2011. Visit:

Our Lady of Guadelupe

"She made a request for a church to be built on the site, and submitted her wish to the local Bishop. When the Bishop hesitated, and requested her for a sign, the Mother of God obeyed without delay or question to the Church's local Bishop, and sent her native messenger to the top of the hill in mid-December to gather an assorment of roses for the Bishop.
After complying to the Bishop's request for a sign, She also left for us an image of herself imprinted miraculously on the native's tilma, a poor quality cactus-cloth, which should have deteriorated in 20 years but shows no sign of decay 477 years later and still defies all scientific explanations of its origin." Important Prayer Request

Spread the word that Sarah Palin asks that everyone pray Psalm 27 for her daily. It is a very powerful Psalm and in conjunction with our work we need prayer like never before.

God bless you

TRUST IN GOD (of David.)

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
who should I fear?
The Lord is my life's refuge;
of whom should I be afraid?
When evildoers come at me
to devour my flesh,
My foes and my enemies
themselves stumble and fall.
Though an army encamp against me,
and heart will not fear;
Though war be waged upon me,
even then will I trust

One thing I ask of the Lord;
this I seek:
To dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
That I may gaze on the loveliness of
the Lord
and contemplate his temple.
For he will hide me in his abode
in the day of trouble;
He will conceal me in the shelter of his
tent,
he will set me high upon a rock.
Even now my head is held high
above my enemies on every side.
And I will offer in his tent
sacrifices with shouts of gladness;
I will sing and chant praise to the Lord.

Hear, O Lord, the sound of my call;
have pity on me, and answer me.
Of you my heart speaks; you my
glance seeks;
your presence, O Lord, I seek.
Hide not your face from me;
do not in anger repel your servant.
You are my helper: cast me not off;
forsake me not, O God my savior,
Though my father and mother forsake
me,
yet will the Lord receive me.

Show me, O Lord, your way,
and lead me on a level path,
because of my adversaries.
Give me not up to the wishes of my
foes;
for false witnesses have risen up
against me,
and such as breathe out violence.
I believe that I shall see the bounty of
the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord with courage;
be stouthearted, and wait for the
Lord.

Scranton Bishop Unexpectedly Visits Forum, Repudiates False Teachings on Catholic Voting

Scranton Bishop Unexpectedly Visits Forum, Repudiates False Teachings on Catholic Voting: "Parishioners of St. John’s church in Scranton were discussing a statement that had been produced by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) that some argue lends itself to the interpretation that Catholics can vote for pro-abortion candidates under certain circumstances. They were taken aback, however, when Bishop Joseph Martino arrived at the forum unannounced and told his flock, “No USCCB document is relevant in this diocese. The USCCB doesn’t speak for me.”
An eyewitness said that the bishop told his audience that he had voted against the USCCB statement, titled “Faithful Citizenship,” and described it as a consensus document “written to mean all things to all people.”"

Signs of Hope?

From the National 40 days for Life Blog:
Does God still offer signs and wonders in our present day? Some people say He doesn’t do that sort of thing any more. Or does He?
In January, David Bereit posted a short video on YouTube that I had taken during the March for Life in Washington, DC It was a cloudy day… until the very end of the march when the sun came out and a rainbow appeared over the Supreme Court building. I — and many others in attendance —saw this rainbow as a sign of hope that God was watching over and blessing our efforts.
This Fall, John and his family, who were driving through a pouring rain to pray at an abortion facility in Methuen, Massachusetts. When they got to the abortion center, the rain stopped — and a rainbow appeared.
Would you believe we now have two more rainbow reports from 40 Days for Life vigils? In Southfield, Michigan, Bishop John Quinn was going to join the 40 Days for Life team for a rally. When the bishop arrived about 15 minutes before the start of the event, it was pouring.
“We brought an umbrella over to him but he said that the Lord would stop the rain for us,” “Sure enough, five minutes prior to start time the rain cleared up and a huge rainbow came out — a sure sign from God.”
In Birmingham, Alabama prayer team had a particularly rough day recently. “We were present at Planned Parenthood while so many children were being aborted,” she said, “while the Planned Parenthood employees laughed and mocked our people.” She said the team really struggled under a very oppressive weight all day.
The next day, Ed — another member of prayer team — saw something that restored his hope. “It was a beautiful rainbow. After feeling so overwhelmed the previous day and praying almost constantly for hope and an increase of peace, this beautiful rainbow showed me the way home.”
